Why People Come

Making something together does what small talk can't

Our last workshop sold out almost immediately — twelve people, none of whom had ever soldered before, and nobody wanted to leave. Seats go fast, so book today.

Learn a real skill

This isn't follow-along-and-go-home. We teach you the actual technique — copper foil, flux, solder, patina — start to finish. You'll leave knowing how to do something you couldn't do that morning.

Make two pieces

You choose your own natural hand-cut stones, set them in metal, and press your own pattern into the finish. Both pendants come home with you, ready to wear.

Meet the room

Twelve people at one long table for three hours. Our first class ranged from people in their twenties to their seventies, and everyone connected. That part isn't an accident.

From the Studio

Where this technique can take you

Pieces from my own bench — free-form soldered settings built around natural hand-cut stones, and antique impression dies finished in enamel. Some stones I cut myself; others come from fellow Northeast Ohio lapidary artists.

About

Making things. Together. In real life.

Hermara Life started with a simple idea: people are happier together, in real life, doing something with their hands.

Hermara Creatives is where that happens — workshops built for the curious, not the credentialed. You come to try something new. You leave with something you made, and usually a few people you didn't know that morning.

I'm Monica. I've been metalsmithing since 2018, working in fabrication, wax carving, fold forming, enameling and soft soldering. I came to it later than I'd have liked, after years of putting other things ahead of my own creativity. That's why I teach.

None at all. Every workshop is built for complete beginners, and we walk you through every step.

How long is the workshop?

Three hours. Most people finish two pendants with time to spare.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting a little messy. We recommend long pants or a skirt and closed-toe shoes, and something to tie back long hair.

What's included?

Everything — tools, natural stones, solder, all materials, and step-by-step instruction. You just show up.

What do I take home?

Two finished stone pendants, ready to wear.

Where are the classes held?

We host workshops at partner venues throughout Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. Our September 26 class is at CLE Urban Winery, 2180B Lee Road, across from the Cedar-Lee Theater. Parking in the Cedar-Lee District is free.

Can I come alone?
